Happy Good Friday!!!!!!!!!!

As many of you know, today is Good Friday!!!!! I'm going to have a little lesson on it today.

LESSON:          Today one of the most important day in history! Today is the day that Jesus was falsely accused and hung on the cross. It sounds horrible that the only perfect human that's ever (and will ever) walk this earth had to die a gruesome and painful death like that. But, actually this is the best news a sinner could ever hear!! You see, every single one of us has sinned (except for Jesus). The reason Jesus hasn't sinned is because He is God in the flesh. Now why would God want to come to earth and die like that? He did that because he wanted to see what His world had come to. Also, he had seen and heard so many misfortunes about His world (He wanted it to be perfect, but you'll have to read Genesis for more about that) that He wanted to, as my pastor says, "Come on down here and check it out for Himself!" The biggest reason He came is because He knew that His children (every one of us) have sinned and need to be forgiven. "For the wages of sin is death" -Romans 6:23 In other words, whoever has sinned deserves to die. So we all deserve to die. But, we don't have to die because Jesus (being a sinless man) died in our place.

It's the greatest gift anyone could ever give. All we have to do to accept that is pray the prayer of salvation. Romans 10:9 says "That if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that He was raised from the dead, then you will be saved."

SCRIPTURES: Matthew 27:27-54; John 11:25-26; John 3:16

I encourage you to read the Easter story this weekend with your family or alone (whatever you feel most comfortable with). I also encourage you to make church a priority this weekend. I hope you all have a very happy Easter. Remember the true meaning of Easter no matter how many chocolates you get from the Easter bunny! ;-)

God Bless,
Alyssa
